Vision
Working with like-minded partners, the GDC builds sustainable business ventures and employment opportunities for Gitga'at people. These actions maintain, enhance, and celebrate the pride of the Gitga'at First Nation.
Values
Below is a list detailing the values that GFN people, Hereditary leaders, the Chief and Council, and the GDC Board of Directors identified as being necessary to uphold.
Values
Prosperity That Benefits the Gitga’at Nation
At the Gitga’at Development Corporation, our work is grounded in a clear purpose: to create prosperity that directly benefits the Gitga’at First Nation.
Our priorities are shaped by the voices of the community — strengthening culture and language, creating education and training opportunities, and ensuring that all development respects and protects our land and waters.
Through our business activities, we support these priorities by:
Creating meaningful employment for Gitga’at members
Advancing sustainable economic opportunities
Upholding the values and long-term interests of the Nation
While GDC plays a key role in driving economic development, these efforts are part of a broader vision led by the Gitga’at First Nation — one that ensures growth remains aligned with community values and responsibilities.
Guided by this shared vision, GDC continues to move forward with a clear strategic direction — balancing economic success with cultural strength, environmental stewardship, and lasting benefit to the Nation.
